Check. Your. Ego.

Tonight we were reminded of an important and often times humbling Crossfit principle. No matter how strong you think you are. No matter how fast you think you are. And no matter how advanced you think you are. You have to listen to the coaches and staff at the box for directions. You also have to listen to your body.

The great thing about Crossfit is that you are constantly learning. If you think you have the movement down there is still room to improve.

I’ve been doing Crossfit Mom or scaling our boxes programming to accommodate my pregnancy. Tonight my husband, a skilled Crossfitter, joined me in completing the Crossfit Mom WOD. He recently hyper-extended his elbow trying to achieve an overhead squat PR. Therefore, tonight he checked his ego at the door and did a WOD with his pregnant wife.

Don’t be afraid to scale, take a rest day, or ask for help. Everyone’s goal in the box is to get stronger, faster, and healthier and no one wants to see someone hurt.

So, check your ego and scale!
